Hi all. Just a quick update to let you know that Dad continues to do brilliantly and has just two Chemo sessions remaining of this latest round of treatment – the last of which is scheduled for the 10th – 12th August.
There had been some consideration given to possibly extending the treatment given how effective it’s been, though with this also came concerns; if they did overdo Chemo then Dad could start to incur some negative side effects – I guess you really can have too much of a good thing. The Chemo is therefore to finish as planned, albeit a week later than expected.
After this bout of Chemo the situation will be reassessed, which seems to make sense. Regardless though, it goes without saying that he has surpassed all expectation and is doing not only himself proud but all those loved ones around him that have supported him from Day 1.
Just last Sunday his daughter in law (Nicola) and grand-daughter (Niamh) took part in the Race for Life in Nottinghamshire to show their continued love and support for him.
As you can see from the main blog picture, Bambam is never far from their thoughts. Well done to the two of them and also to all the other brave women and daughters that took time out to join the fight and help Cancer Research continue to beat Cancer.
